Guide

See Guide to Robotics

As a roboticist you will start in the dorms, or in the laboratory. You will have your own office inside of the lab, close to the mechbay and robo-surgery room. You will find some useful items in your office and locker as well as the lab. The most important for your job is a set of tools and a tool belt, along with welding eye protection. You will want a length of cable coil as well with you for any repairs you might be requested to perform.

The roboticist is not limited to just repairing cyborgs and robotic limbs; feel free to advance the research on the Research Console. With enough research points you can create thing such as atom cells, advanced cybernetic implants, weapons and new mech parts. Make sure to maintain any cyborgs that require assistance and replace their powercells with higher capacity upgrades as soon as possible; this will prevent unwanted shutdowns in hard to retrieve places.

Tips

  • You start with 2 MMIs and a Positronic Brain. Both can be used to make a cyborg or to further research.
  • Make all sorts of bots to help out your crew. Cleanliness equals a sound mind on Eris!
  • Check for old mechs left lying around in Maintenance on your robotics console! If none show up, they might just be buried under an immense amount of trash. Don’t be shy and procure Maint Access for recovery and repairs.
