Enshrined in The Agreement is the right of every crewmember to carry a firearm (or alternative weapon) for self-defense. This document covers the use of firearms and what arms are likely available to be encountered on the ship.
Firearm Basics
Firearms under normal circumstances are held in hand. Some firearms are bulkier than others and require two hands to be operated. In almost every case firearms come with a safety to prevent accidental discharge. Firearms come in several different types, ranging from nonlethal tasers to heavy automatic kinetic weapons to launchers of junk.
Default Keybinds
Action | Default Keybind | Effect |
---|---|---|
Wield Item | CTRL + X | Enables use of equipped longarm |
Operate Active Hand | Z | Operates action of pump- or bolt- action weapons |
Ammunition
Of course the firearm by itself cannot be anything more than a very expensive bludgeon without ammunition (outside certain special cases). There are various standardized calibers for ballistic firearms and within those calibers exist multiple specialty rounds for unique circumstances. Ballistic weapons are fed by Magazines, Speedloaders and Internal Magazines. Magazines-fed Ballistic firearms only take magazines which in turn must be reloaded with loose rounds. Meanwhile Speedloader and Internally-fed Ballistic firearms may be loaded with the aforementioned speedloader or by directly feeding loose rounds into the firearm.

Meanwhile Energy weapons take energy cells and consume a portion of a cell's charge every time it is fired. Energy weapons do not have specialty ammunition and instead have firemodes that can be swapped to. Once an energy cell is drained it must be removed from the Energy weapon by dragging the weapon icon into an empty hand. Note that some energy weapons have integrated cells or magazines that cannot be unloaded.
Manufacturers
There are several major brands of firearms in this region of space. The following is a list of the major arms manufacturers represented on and off the CEV Eris.
Special Manufacturers
Faction | Abbreviation | Description |
---|---|---|
Nanotrasen |
While long since defunct ever since its destruction at the hands of the Church of Cyber-Christianity, their weapons remain popular and highly sought after. | |
Excelsior |
The extreme isolation of this communist faction has forced them to pursue their own weapons development, typically acquiring/stealing weapons, they tend to retrofit and reuse old, but reliable, ballistic firearms for their own purpose. Nonetheless, their alternative weapons have a rare tendency of making their way into the general market. | |
OneStar Empire |
An ancient human empire, One Star's forces were once a numberless tide equipped with an equally enormous number of mass-produced firearms to guard it's interests. Though the Empire fell long ago, it lives on in it's weapons that survive to this day. | |
Multiple independent manufactures exist within the sphere of Human civilization, and while most fail to reach the same dominate presence of their superiors, many do craft their own niche out. |

Submachine Guns
Icon | Item | Ammo | Capacity | Description | Manufacturer |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
FS SMG "Straylight" | SMG magazine(.35 Auto) | 35 Rounds | A compact, lightweight and cheap rapid-firing submachine gun. In the past was primarily used for testing ammunition and weapon modifications, nowadays mass-produced for IH security forces. Suffers from poor recoil control and underperforming ballistic impact but makes up for this through sheer fire rate. Especially effective with rubber ammunition. Uses .35 Auto rounds. | Frozen Star | |
FS SMG "Atreides" | SMG magazine(.35 Auto) | 35 Rounds | The Atreides is a replica of an old and popular SMG. Cheap and mass produced generic self-defence weapon. The overall design is so generic that it is neither considered good nor bad in comparison to other firearms. Uses .35 Auto rounds. | Frozen Star | |
C-20r | SMG magazine(.35 Auto) | 35 Rounds | The C-20r is a lightweight and robust bullpup SMG of ancient design, for when you REALLY need someone dead. Famous as most used SMG by criminal organizations of various sorts. Was recently reverse-engineered by Moebius almost completely from the scratch, introducing gun to the broad masses of customers. Has a "Scarborough Arms" - Per falcis, per pravitas' buttstock stamp. Uses .35 Auto rounds. | Moebius Laboratories
| |
SA SMG "Zoric" | SMG magazine(.40 Magnum) | 25 Rounds | A Heavy Submachine Gun made by "Serbian Arms", for paramilitary and private security use. Rifled to take a larger caliber than a typical submachine gun, it boasts a greater impact, but suffers from poor recoil control and worse than average armor penetration capabilities as a result. Has worse than average fire rate. Uses .40 Magnum rounds. | Serbian Arms | |
Excelsior "Drozd" | SMG magazine(.40 Magnum) | 25 Rounds | An excellent fully automatic Heavy SMG. Rifled to take a larger caliber than a typical submachine gun, but unlike other heavy SMGs makes use of increased caliber to achieve excellent armor penetration capabilities. Suffers a bit less from poor recoil control and has a worse than average fire rate. Uses .40 Magnum rounds. | Excelsior |

Energy Guns
Energy Guns consume different amount of energy each shot. Capacity column depicts how much charge gun consumes per shot.
A word about charge mode
This mode allows you to charge the weapon by holding down the left mouse button (with the safety off) before releasing it for a more powerfully damaging shot, at the cost of higher energy usage. The charge damage is capped at double the normal damage, and the charge rate is heavily dependant on Vigilance.
