Actor ErisEn
Description
You are a creative soul aboard this vessel. You have been conscripted by the Aster's Guild to create masterful works of art to be sold at Asters Guild... and something about the CEV Eris and it's doomed journey sparks the fire of creation within you. Sell your artwork to the unwashed masses, or give your work to the merchant to sell for a profit.
Duties
Create works of art using your insight.
Sell your work, or give it to the merchant to sell for you.
Be in the midst of action or combat to level your insight faster.
Guide
As an artist you will start with an artist bench in your office, this is the thing you'll use the most.
You do not gain desires like other members of the crew. Instead, you stop gaining insight once you max out at 100 points. You can gain desires by spending this insight at your Artist's Bench to build a work of art, this art you create vary wildly in type, quality, and (most importantly, in the eyes of the Merchant) value.
Artists gain insight 50% faster than a normal player.
If anything happens to your artist bench, you can always make a new one with the circuit board provided in the closet in the office.
How to make art
To make art you will be using the artist bench, to do so, you will need to have in it 20 sheets of the following materials:
- Glass
- Plastic
- Steel
- Wood
- Plasteel
Making art will randomly consume one sheet of the materials, as well as 40-100 insight, depending on how much you want to spend.
Using the artist bench, you can get one of the following:
- Guns: You can get either revolvers or pistols, these can use some interesting ammo as: shotgun shells, .60 amr ammo, .70 ammo, grenades, rocket grenades etc.
- Oddities: You can get really strong oddities with even overwhelming stats.
- Tool mods: You can get tool mods with random stat bonuses.
- Statues: You can get a randon statue with someones name on it.
How to play artist
At the start of the round you should secure materials for the artist bench. To gain insight to make art you might want to get drugs, alcoho and cigarettes. A more effective tactic is also hitting yourself by pulling punches, but do be careful because doing that will decrease your sanity and you might get a breakdown.
Once you make art, you will also gain a personal objective in the Notes tab, you can choose to complete them in order to gain insight.
After all of this you can start selling your art by either selling it at the guild desk or even exporting it (although exporting it will give a random price).
